Police investigate Robbery in Halifax
Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.
On August 13, 2020 at 1:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Hollis Hotel located at 1649 Hollis Street, Halifax. A lone male suspect entered the Hotel and produced a knife to the lone female clerk stating “I’m not going to hurt you just give me your money”. The female clerk refused to give the suspect money and he grabbed her black back pack and fled the hotel. The female employee was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 yrs old, 5’2” in height, approximately 130lbs. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head, dark pants and a blue cloth material was covering his face.
Multiple police units attended the scene and an officer observed the suspect walking near 1877 Hollis Street carrying the female hotel clerk’s backpack.
At 1:24 a.m. the officer arrested the 48 year old male suspect who had no fixed address. The suspect was transported back to the Prisoner Care Facility and placed in a cell. The suspect will be interviewed later today by investigators regarding this robbery and other recent robberies. The investigation is in its early stages and Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.
