Police investigate shooting

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a shooting that occurred in Dartmouth yesterday.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. police received a report of gunshots in the area of Mount Edward Road that had occurred earlier in that morning. Officers were able to locate shell casings in the area and it is believed the sots occurred at approximately 2 a.m. No damage was located to any vehicles or residences in the area and there were no reported injuries.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.

Police lay charges in robbery

Halifax Regional Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Halifax earlier this week.

On December 25 at approximately 6 a.m. officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Circle K at 5450 Inglis Street.  A man entered the store, demanded money and cigarettes and fled on foot with a quantity of cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

At approximately 8 a.m. officers located the suspect at a residence in Halifax and recovered the stolen property.

Clay James Alexander LeBlanc, 26, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial today to face charges of robbery and three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a court order.
