Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
Locations: parts of mainland Nova Scotia and western Cape Breton.
Time span: until later morning.
Remarks: Freezing rain or ice pellets are expected to become more widespread early this morning as temperatures cool.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
