Police lay drug trafficking charges

Police have charged a man for drug trafficking in relation to an incident in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. officers responded to report of a disturbance in the area of the 3600 block of Joseph Howe Drive. It was reported that a man in a vehicle had been arguing with another man in the parking lot. The man in the vehicle pointed what was believed to be a firearm at the other man before driving off.

A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle in area and arrested the driver. Officers seized a quantity of cocaine and cash from the driver and the vehicle. A firearm was not located.

A 41-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court to face one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
