Cherry Street – Wastewater System Maintenance

Halifax Water will be continuing scheduled wastewater system maintenance today, Wednesday, July 29th on Cherry Street in Halifax.

This work will take place near 6082 Cherry Street from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM. There will be local traffic only access on Cherry Street between Vernon Street and Robie Street, and no on-street parking in the work zone near 6082 Cherry Street. The sidewalk on the even civic numbered side of Cherry Street will be closed. There will be no loss of municipal services.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

Alma Crescent Road Closure – Manhole Repairs

Today, Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Ocean Contractors, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be completing urgent manhole repairs on Alma Crescent. Only local traffic will be permitted in the work zone (see attached map), pedestrian access will not be impacted by this work.

This closure will be in effect from 7:00 AM until approximately 9:00 AM.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

There will be no loss of water, wastewater or stormwater service during this work.
