UPDATE: Missing boater located deceased by RCMP Underwater Recovery Team
The missing boater in Cumberland County has been located deceased by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.
On September 3, 2023, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Cumberland County District RCMP responded to a report of an overdue person in Northport, Cumberland County. RCMP officers learned that a 64-year-old man had gone out on his boat on September 2 and had not yet returned home.
A multi-agency search for the man, led by the Cumberland County District RCMP, was launched and involved resources from the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, RCMP Air Services, multiple fire departments, Ground Search and Rescue teams and the Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre.
Sadly, the man was located deceased on September 4 by members of the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.
