Missing person: Help the RCMP find Gladys Jodrey

Update: Missing person found deceased

The 80-year-old woman who was reported missing from Greenfield, Kings County, on July 21 has been located deceased. The remains were located​ yesterday during a search in the area of Jehill Jake Road and Davison Road.

The death is not believed to be suspicious in nature, however the investigation into the death is ongoing. Kings District RCMP would like to thank all the volunteer organizations who provided assistance with this investigation

Search for Gladys Jodrey suspended, RCMP continue to seek information

The search for Gladys Jodrey has been suspended after more than 40 hours of both ground and air search by teams from across the Province.

The police investigation and information obtained leading up to where Jodrey was last seen determined that around 7:00 a.m. on the July 21, Jodrey departed her residence on foot near the intersection of Greenfield Rd and Peck Meadow Rd. Police believe Jodrey then walked North on Greenfield Rd to Davison Street and continued to walk west to the intersection of Jehill Davison Rd and Davison St. She was last seen in the area of that location at 10:00 a.m.

Jodrey is an 80-year-old female, described as white, with a slender build and is 5-foot-6 and 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red top, teal blue pants, a black cardigan sweater, running shoes and red rimmed glasses.

There has been a tremendous amount of support from across the Province. Search teams include Valley SAR, West Hants SAR, Annapolis Co SAR, Halifax SAR, Clare SAR, Digby SAR, Colchester /East Hants SAR, Eastern Shore SAR, Musquodobit Valley SAR, and Sheet Harbour SAR. Other emergency partners assisting include: EHS, Wolfville Fire Department, Halifax Fire Department, Province of NS Public Safety – Communications, Province of NS DNR Helicopters and Emergency Management Office.

Both the RCMP and Jodrey’s family would like to thank the generous donations of food and beverages from the community to the search teams. Additional thanks is extended to the Ground Search teams and emergency partners who have worked tirelessly and assisted with the search.

Kings District RCMP continues to seek any information the public may have in regards to the whereabouts of Gladys Jodrey. Residents in the area are asked to check their properties, including any outbuildings. If anyone has any information, please contact Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.

Kings District is asking for assistance from the public to locate a missing woman. Gladys Ester Jodrey, 80, of Greenfield, Kings County. Jodrey is described as caucasian, with white hair, glasses and​ is 5-foot-6 and 110 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing blue pants, a red top, a black cardigan, and sneakers. One of her legs is noticeably swollen. She was last seen near her home on Peck Meadow Rd. at approximately 7:30 a.m. today. The RCMP is being assisted by local Ground Search and Rescue volunteers and an RCMP Police Dog.
The RCMP and Jodrey’s family are concerned for her safety. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gladys Jodrey is asked to contact Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.
