Halifax District RCMP request public assistance with attempted robbery investigation

Halifax District RCMP is looking for public assistance related to an investigation into an attempted robbery that occurred last evening.

On July 14 at approximately 7:35 p.m., RCMP Halifax District received a report of an attempted robbery that occurred near the intersection of Chameau Crescent and Forest Hills Parkway in Cole Harbour. A man was walking near the intersection when another male approached him and began talking to him. During the conversation, the male shook the victim’s hand and would not let go then demanded the victim’s bag. The victim was able to get away from the male and leave. The victim was not injured.

The male is described as black, 5’ 8”, medium build with braided short hair. He was wearing a brown or burgundy shirt and shorts, and a thin gold chain. He was last seen leaving on foot on Chameau Crescent towards Albany Terrace.

Halifax District RCMP is asking any residents with a door camera or security camera in the area to review their camera systems for any individuals matching the description and contact police at 902-490-5020.
