Lunenburg District RCMP has arrested an impaired driver after a serious crash in Whynotts Settlement.
Yesterday, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a crash on Hwy. 325 in Whynotts Settlement. RCMP officers learned that a Pontiac G5 left the roadway, became airborne and came to rest in the ditch.

The three rear passengers, a 19-year-old Wileville man, a 19-year-old Upper Branch man, and a female youth, suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.
At the scene, RCMP officers identified the driver of the vehicle. The 19-year-old Bridgewater man, who suffered minor injuries in the crash, was exhibiting signs of impairment. He was requested to provide a sample of breath into an approved screening device; the sample resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to hospital where a blood sample was obtained for analysis.
The man was later released; he will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court at a later date.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Hwy. 325 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
