Note: Each week the local listings are expanded and updated. During the week new and updated tasks are added. Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

Traffic Delay – Wilkinson Avenue

Location:  Wilkinson Avenue, from Cutler Avenue to the end of the road

Date: Friday, May 19

Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: : Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate asphalt repairs, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops with occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Prince Albert Road

Location: Prince Albert Road, Harris Road to Graham’s Grove

Date: Thursday, May 18

Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Work details: This work includes asphalt repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Prince Albert Road

Location: Prince Albert Road, between Bolton Terrace and Sinclair Street

Date: Wednesday, May 17

Time: 2-4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes asphalt repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops with occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Brunswick Street

Location: Brunswick Street, between Cogswell and Cornwallis streets

Date: Friday, May 26 to Monday, May 29

Time: 7 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday

Work details: This work is to complete the installation of a watermain connection. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.

Traffic impact: A marked detour will be in place. Residents will be directed around the construction area by signs and traffic control personnel. Local access only.

Cyclists will be required to share the road with vehicular traffic and follow the detour signs in place. Residents should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Highway 2, Fall River

Location: Highway 2 from Sunnylea Road to Collins Drive

Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Time: 6 to 9 p.m.

Work details: These delays are a result of ongoing road construction projects in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Portland Street

Location: Portland Street from Pleasant Street to Manor Drive

Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt repair. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Pleasant Street

Location: Pleasant Street, from Prince Albert Road to Portland Street

Date: Tuesday, May 16

Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Work details: These delays are a result of ongoing road construction projects in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop and go traffic will be in place while work is being completed.  Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Highway 2 Fall River

Locations: Highway 2 – Fall River Road roundabout to Rocky Lake Drive (9-11 a.m.)

Highway 2 – Coach Avenue to Holland Drive (11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m.)

Highway 2 – Sunnylea Road to Collins Drive (1:45-4 p.m.)

Date: Monday, May 15

Work details: These delays are a result of ongoing road construction projects in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops with occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Cow Bay Road

Location: Cow Bay Road, between the Rainbow Haven Park Bridge to Dyke Road

Date: Monday, May 15 to Wednesday, May 17

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate asphalt renewal.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Glendale Drive

Location: Glendale Drive from Beaverbank Road to Riverside Drive

Date: Monday, May 15

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Work details: This is to facilitate asphalt repair. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Pleasant Street from Everette to 600 Pleasant streets

Date: Friday, May 12

Time: Noon to 4 p.m. 

Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate preparation for road construction. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

NEW WORK

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road

Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge until October 31.

Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmond’s Road and Keers Mill Road. Vehicles over 4 metres wide need to plan an alternate route due to width of structures on detour route.

RICHMOND COUNTY: West Bay Road, Port Hawkesbury

West Bay Road, from Nature Dream Boulevard, easterly for 3.8 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for roadwork from May 15 until September 30.

Traffic control on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

CONTINUING WORK

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 105, North Sydney

The intersection of Highway 105 and Tobin Road is reduced to one lane for roadwork until July 31.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche

Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.

A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro

Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until October, due to work on the bridge decking.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche

Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford/Lower Sackville

Highway 102, from Exit 4A to Exit 4C, has lane reductions and intermittent road closures on the northbound and southbound highway for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 Interchange.

Highway 102 northbound and southbound, Highway 101, Bedford Highway, Bedford Bypass, Duke Street, Glendale Avenue and Sackville Drive have intermittent road closures for blasting until June 30.

Traffic control will be on-site. Road closures for blasting occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Lane reductions occur from sunrise to sunset Monday to Thursday and from sunrise to noon on Friday.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.

A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until September.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz

Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.

A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport

Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.

A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, Barneys River

The new Barneys River Interchange will be used to detour Highway 104 traffic until May 31, to prepare for the opening of the new highway.

Signs will direct drivers through the roundabouts. Approaching traffic must yield to traffic already in the roundabout.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame

Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Highway 105, South Haven

Highway 105, from 3.2 kilometres west of Trunk 30, easterly to 600 metres east of Route 312, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until June 30.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
