Police lay assault with weapon charges
Police have laid charges in relation to a weapons incident that occurred in Dartmouth yesterday.
At approximately 6:25 p.m. police responded to a report of an assault that just occurred in the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive. A youth approached another youth who was not known to them, threatened them, and sprayed them with a sensory irritant. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Officers arrested the suspect in the area a short time later.
A 15-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial youth court today to face charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
- Failure to comply with an undertaking
