Police request public assistance identifying suspect in robbery

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth earlier this week.

On January 1 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 0-100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth. A man approached a woman who was at a bank machine, assaulted her and took her property. He then fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his thirties, approximately 5’10” tall with a thin build and wearing a black three-quarter length felt coat, a gray hooded sweater and a gray toque.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information about the incident or video from the area is asked to call 902-490-5020.
