Police charge two men for numerous break and enters and thefts from vehicles

Police have charged two men in relation to numerous break and enters and thefts from motor vehicles that occurred over the last two months in Halifax.

On December 17 police were called to a report of an unwanted person at an apartment building on Morris Street in Halifax. While on scene officers located two men who were suspects in a number of recent incidents involving thefts from motor vehicles. The men attempted to flee but were taken into custody.

Jessie William White, 28, and William Joseph O’Brien, 46, are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Mischief (property damage) (x18)
  • Theft of credit card
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x2)

White is also facing additional charges of:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of break tools
  • Mischief (property damage) (x28)
  • Theft under $5,000 (x8)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x8)
  • Resisting arrest
  • Assaulting a peace officer

The investigations into these incidents are ongoing and we encourage anyone who has had property stolen from their vehicle to report it to police by calling 902-490-5016 or at our online crime reporting site. If your license plate or government identification is stolen, report it to police immediately.
