Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section investigating armed robbery

The Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the Glooscap First Nation.

On December 8, 2022, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Gaming Centre on Smith Rd. on the Glooscap First Nation. RCMP officers learned that a person had entered the Gaming Centre, approached a teller window and showed a teller a note that said that they had a weapon and were demanding money. The person was given money by the teller and they then fled the Gaming Centre on foot. No one was injured during the incident. An RCMP Police Dog Services team attended and attempted to track the person, but were unsuccessful.

The person is believed to be a man, is described as approximately 5’10” tall with an average build, and was wearing a black mask, a red sweater, a beige hoodie, a beige hat, dark pants and dark gloves.
