National Blood Donor Week

Each year, during National Blood Donor Week (June 8–14) and World Blood Donor Day (Sunday, June 14), we proudly recognize and celebrate the essential role donors play in strengthening Canada’s Lifeline.

This year marks the 12th anniversary since the parliamentary legislation — introduced by Senator Terry Mercer — was enacted. We are proud to recognize and celebrate the importance of blood donors in Canada. We invite you to join us in amplifying this message across your network.

Let’s unite, celebrate our blood donors in Canada and inspire others to become regular donors in support of saving lives.

Together, we are Canada’s Lifeline

IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE:

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is important for all travellers to self-isolate, and refrain from blood donation, for 14 days after any travel outside of Canada as stated by public health authorities. For some travel, a longer deferral is already in place. See the Q & A section of our COVID-19 page for more information about COVID-19 and donor eligibility. If you are unsure of your own eligibility, please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283).
