To honour Women’s History Month, we remember the sacrifice of Captain Nichola Goddard of 1st Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.

Captain Nichola Goddard, a forward observer with the 1st Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, lost her life during ground offensive operations in Kandahar on May 17, 2006. She was the first Canadian female soldier to be killed in combat.

Capt Goddard was respected by her peers and inspired many.

We will remember her.
