NSP SAFETY MESSAGE: HELPING KEEP OUR CUSTOMERS AND CREWS SAFE

The safety of our customers and crews is priority as we continue to work to restore power across the
province.

Thousands of Nova Scotians have had their every day lives interrupted with damage caused by Hurricane
Fiona. It has generated national and international media attention. There is also a great deal of interest
within neighbourhoods and communities across the province.

In order to ensure everyone stays safe, we are asking members of the public and the media to be mindful of getting too close to crews or equipment in the field. Please don’t walk through, or near, worksites as it can be dangerous.

It’s also important not to attempt to handle downed powerlines – they should be treated as live or
energized. And please be aware of trees touching or tangled up in overhead lines – don’t attempt to cut
them down yourself.

The damage from Hurricane Fiona is widespread and severe. Progress is being made on restoration, but
there is still a lot of work to be done to get our customers power back on.

We are committed to restoring power as safely and quickly as possible.
