Fireworks are Dangerous to Pets and Wildlife – SPCA share Petition
The Nova Scotia SPCA advocates that fireworks, pyrotechnics, and gas-fired explosions should never be permitted to be used at events and is concerned about the impact fireworks have on companion animals and wildlife in the vicinity.
The Nova Scotia SPCA is in favour of a ban on the private sale and use of fireworks across Nova Scotia due to the significant fear and distress they cause to animals which compromises their welfare. Animals change their behaviour in response to loud and abrupt noises and this can lead to physical injury, disruption of feeding, stress and mortality, abandonment of young, all of which are signs of mental suffering.
Help make this the last year that animals are harmed by dangerous backyard fireworks. Join the Nova Scotia SPCA in supporting the online petition from Ban Private Fireworks in Nova Scotia by clicking the button below.
