Traffic Delay – Glendale and Riverside drives
Location: Intersection of Glendale and Riverside drives
Date: Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate Nova Scotia Power infrastructure upgrades
Traffic impact: During this work, the traffic signals at the intersection of Glendale and Riverside drives will be shut off, and lane drops will be in place. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Hollis Street
Location: Hollis Street, between Cogswell and Duke streets
Date: Monday, Aug. 8 to Friday, Aug. 12
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day (additional evening hours may be required as necessary)
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the installation of emergency water sprinklers
Traffic impact: Hollis Street, between Cogswell and Duke streets, will be reduced to one lane of traffic while work is underway.
The bike lane will be closed from Monday, Aug. 8 to Wednesday, Aug. 10, while the work site is active.
At least one side of the sidewalk will remain open at all times. Marked pedestrian detours will be in place as required.
Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Williams Lake and Parkhill roads
Location: Williams Lake Road, from Wyndrock Drive to Purcells Cove Road, and Parkhill Road, from Purcells Cove to Kirk roads
Date: Saturday, Aug. 6
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Details: A road closure will be in place to facilitate the Maritime Sikh Society’s Nagar Kirtan event.
Traffic Impact: Williams Lake Road, from Wyndrock Drive to Purcells Cove Road, will be closed while the event travels through the community.
Parkhill Road, from Purcells Cove to Kirk roads, will also be closed to traffic, with local access maintained on Parkhill Road, between 10 Parkhill and Kirk Roads.
Halifax Transit route 25 will be detoured through Litchfield Crescent and Wyndrock Drive for the duration of the closure on Williams Lake Road.
The event will be traffic controlled by Halifax Regional Police. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Nighttime Road Construction – Bedford Highway
Location: Bedford Highway, from Fourth Street to Rocky Lake Drive
Date: Sunday, Aug. 7 to Thursday, September 8
Time: Every Sunday to Thursday night from 7 p.m. each evening to 7 a.m. of the following morning
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road from Inglis Street to Southwood Drive
Date:Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12
Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
Work details: This work includes asphalt paving and concrete repairs. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Marked detours will be in place. Pedestrian and local traffic access will remain in place during this closure

Night Time Road Construction – Chain Lake Drive
Location: Chain Lake Drive, from Lacewood Drive to Washmill Lake Drive
Date: Wednesday, August 3 to Friday, August 12 (weekdays only)
Time: 6 p.m. daily until 7 a.m. the following morning

Night Time Road Closure – Hollis Street
Location: Hollis Street, between Cogswell Street and Duke Street
Date: Wednesday, August 3 to Thursday, August 4
Time: 6 p.m. daily until to 6 a.m. the following morning
Work details: This road closure is to facilitate the installation of emergency water sprinklers to buildings.
Traffic Impact: Hollis Street will be down to one lane for this block in the evenings. The sidewalk on the west side will be closed during this time. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side of Hollis Street. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Larry Uteck Boulevard
Location: Larry Uteck Boulevard between Brookline Drive and Ella Lane
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 3 to Wednesday, Aug. 24
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays only
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the installation of a Heritage Gas pipeline. For questions, residents may contact Heritage Gas at 902.466.2003.
Traffic impact: A lane reduction will be in place, and a portion of the sidewalk on the west side of Larry Uteck Boulevard will be closed, during working hours. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Alderney Drive
Location: Alderney Drive between Prince and Portland streets, Dartmouth
Date: Thursday, August 4, 2022
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Temporary on-street work in the westbound curbside lane along Alderney Drive.
Traffic impact: Alderney Drive will be reduced to one lane in the westbound direction while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Spring Garden Road at Grafton Street
Location: Intersection of Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street, Halifax
Date: Wednesday, August 3, 2022
Time: From 10 a.m. to noon
Work details: There is temporary on-street work in the intersection.
Traffic impact: Traffic on Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street will be stopped for up to five minutes at a time while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible

Traffic Delays – Parade in Downtown Halifax
Location: Downtown Halifax, from Sackville, Brunswick and South Park streets and Spring Garden Road
Date: Saturday, July 30
Time: Noon to 2 p.m.
Details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Ratha Yatra Festival of Chariots Parade. For more information, visit halifaxchariotfestival.ca.
Traffic Impact: Traffic delays are expected as the parade travels through Downtown Halifax. The parade will assemble on Sackville Street (adjacent to Garrison Grounds), travel east down Sackville Street, south on Brunswick Street, west on Spring Garden Road, north on South Park Street, and east on Sackville Street.
The event will be escorted, and traffic controlled, by Halifax Regional Police. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River
Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, is reduced to one lane for about one kilometre.
Twinning work continues until 2023.
Signs are in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Mira Gut Bridge, Mira Gut
Due to construction on Mira Gut Bridge, Mira Bay Drive from Brickyard Road to Mira Gut Lane is limited to local traffic only.
Access to the beach parking area and washroom facilities will remain open during construction.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Salmon River Bridge, Grand Mira North
Salmon River Bridge on Intervale Road will be closed for repairs until August 12.
The detour is via Grand Mira North Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Burnett Bridge
Burnett Bridge, over MacLean Brook on Route 224 in Pine Grove/Gays River, is closed until further notice.
Detour signs and 30-tonne weight restriction are in place. All other trucks to follow posted truck route. Detour is via Saint Andrews River Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 101 between exits 14 and 14A, will be reduced to one lane northbound until October 31 due to planned work on the bridge decking.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344 (Main Street), Mulgrave
Route 344/Main Street traffic is being re-routed onto the newly installed detour bridge.
The entrance to Mill Street from Main Street is closed, and drivers should use an alternate route. Signs are in place.
The detour will remain in place until August 31.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16
Trunk 16, from 1.4 kilometres north of Lincolnville Loop, north to Mattie Road, will be reduced to one lane for brush clearing and road work until August 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp will be closed until September 2023.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Orangedale
Orangedale-Iona Road, from Portage Road southbound for about 5.7 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for gravelling and drainage work until July 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until October.
A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: East River West Side Road, Eureka
The section between 6280 East River West Side Road and Churchville Road will be closed until October 31 for the replacement of the Eureka Mills Bridge.
A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 289 (Little Harbour Road)
Route 289 (Little Harbour Road), from the New Glasgow town line northerly to Route 348, is reduced to one lane for paving and patching until August 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

PICTOU COUNTY: Westville Road
Westville Road at the Westville Road Bridge over Highway 104 will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work continues until August 31. A detour will be in place and drivers should proceed with caution.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Trunk 4
Trunk 4, from Riverside Road eastbound for about 7.1 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for repaving until September 30.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Highway 103, Jordan Falls
Highway 103, about 100 metres west of Exit 24, will have alternating lane closures for rehabilitation work on Jordan Falls Bridge until August 31.
Traffic control lights are in place. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Lake George Road, Lake George
Lake George Road, from Richmond Road to Crosby Road, has alternating lane closures for roadwork until August 31.

Lakeside Road, from Main Shore Road to Dayton Road, is reduced to one lane for paving until August 31.
