West Hants District RCMP arrest two men in break-in
West Hants District RCMP has arrested two men after a break-in on Bobbitt Drive West in St. Croix.
On July 18, at approximately 12:55 a.m., West Hants District RCMP responded to a report of a break-in at a property on Bobbitt Drive West in St. Croix. RCMP officers learned that a red pickup truck had parked on the road near a home and the homeowner then heard footsteps on gravel in their backyard, followed by someone rummaging in their shed. RCMP officers had the vehicle towed and RCMP Police Dog Services attended to search the area for the possible suspect(s).
Shortly after 3:15 a.m., two men were located in the woods, both were safely arrested for the break-in. During the arrest, one of the men threatened to harm an RCMP officer. The men were transported to the West Hants District RCMP Detachment and held in cells until morning.
Travis Darrell Seyforth, 34, of Lake Paul, has been charged with Break and Enter with Intent and Uttering Threats. He was remanded into custody and will appear in Windsor Provincial Court later today.
The second man, 20, of Lake Loon, was released on conditions. He will be facing a charge of Break and Enter with Intent and will appear in court at a later date.

Halifax District RCMP charge man with Assault with a Weapon
Halifax District RCMP has charged a man in relation to an assault with a weapon that occurred at a home on Thorncrest Crt. in Eastern Passage.
On July 18, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a man threatening another man with a knife at a home on Thorncrest Crt. in Eastern Passage. RCMP officers learned that a 31-year-old man was on conditions not to be at the home and to not to have contact with the victim.
RCMP officers located the 31-year-old man on a nearby street and safely arrested the him. The victim did not suffer any injuries.
Stephan James Patrick Caul, 31, has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Failure to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking
Caul was held in custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
