Police charge man for making false 911 call

Police have charged a man in relation to a false 911 call in Dartmouth overnight.

On June 24, at 22:31 p.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery at​ a residence in the 0-100 block of Frances Street in Dartmouth. In addition, the caller provided that someone had been shot inside the residence.​

Through the course of the investigation officers were able to determine that there was no robbery,​ no shots had been fired,​ no one was injured and​ that the caller had provided false information. The male caller​ was arrested at the scene​ without incident.

A 22-year-old Dartmouth man has been charged with​ Public Mischief. He has been released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
