RCMP investigating after fatal motor vehicle collision

Colchester County District RCMP is investigating after a fatal motor vehicle collision on Laybolt Rd. in Onslow Mountain.

On May 13, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP, fire services and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Laybolt Rd. in Onslow Mountain. Officers learned that a Ford F-150 and a Dodge Ram had been travelling in opposite directions on Laybolt Rd. when they collided.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 54-year-old man from Truro, suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

The driver of Ford F-150, a 35-year-old man from Bible Hill, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.
Laybolt Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
