Police charge man following drug investigation

Police have charged a man in relation to a drug trafficking investigation in Dartmouth.

On April 23, investigators in the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of members of the Guns and Gangs Unit and East Division Patrol, conducted a search of a residence on Hasting Drive. Investigators seized quantities of hydromorphone pills and psilocybin, brass knuckles, a sensory irritant canister and over $3,500 in cash.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident. He scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a court order
