Police have charged a man for two Robberies that occurred in Dartmouth this afternoon

At approximately 2:00 p.m. police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Royal Bank located at 44 Portland St.​ A man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash.​ No weapon was seen and the man left empty-handed and fled on foot.​ ​



At approximately 2:26 p.m. police responded to another report of a robbery that had occurred at the Bank of Montreal located at 21 MicMac Blvd.​ ​ ​ A man matching the same description entered the bank and passed a note to the teller which stated he wanted cash and that he had a weapon.​ ​ No weapon was observed and​ ​ the man left empty-handed and fled the area on foot where he was apprehended​ by police shortly after.​

No staff members or members of the public where injured during either incident.

The 68 year old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face 2 charges of robbery.​
