Police issue 55 tickets for distracted driving, speeding and other vehicle-related offences
Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit is focusing on distracted driving throughout the month of February, and yesterday officers issued 55 tickets for distracted driving, speeding and other motor vehicle-related offences.
Members from the Traffic Unit issued 55 summary offence tickets: 25 for using a cell phone while driving, 12 for speeding and 18 for other offences including no insurance, expired plates and no license.
In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on distracted driving and speed enforcement. We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
