Residents Invited to Celebrate African Heritage Month 2022
February is African Heritage Month. This year’s theme, Through Our Eyes: The Voices of African Nova Scotians, recognizes the long-standing history of people of African descent in the development of Canada.
The municipality is holding a variety of events to celebrate the legacy, achievements, and contributions of people of African descent as part of our collective Nova Scotia heritage.

African Heritage Month Opening Night
The Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia and Halifax Public Libraries will launch African Heritage Month 2022. The annual Opening Night Celebration will stream live on Facebook or YouTube.
Opening Night includes greetings and stories from local community leaders, and performances by local musicians and artists.
