Update to a previously issued notification plus a NEW potential exposure to COVID-19 at a location in Central Zone
Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of an update to a previously issued notification and a potential exposure to COVID-19 at a location in Central Zone. In addition to media releases, all potential exposure notifications are listed here: http://www.nshealth.ca/covid-exposures.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in our province, we have made changes to how Public Health communicates COVID-19 public exposures. We will no longer be issuing notifications when there has been minimal risk to the public (precaution notifications). We will only be issuing notifications when the public has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (exposures).
If you were present at the following locations on the named dates and times, you are required to immediately self-isolate and follow the instructions in this table for a COVID-19 Exposure Notification based on your vaccination status.
- Fit4Less – Bedford Place Mall (1658 Bedford Hwy., Bedford) on Dec. 18 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, Jan. 1.
- *UPDATE Cineplex Sydney, Spider-Man: No Way Home Auditorium 1 (325 Prince St., Sydney) Dec. 16 between 6:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, Dec. 30.
Nova Scotia Health employees and physicians who have been at an exposure location must complete the COVID-19 status or reason for work absence webform for advice, guidance and direction from Occupational Health Safety and Wellness.
Until Monday, Dec. 27, if you were instructed to book a COVID-19 test (close contacts or have symptoms) and there are no PCR test appointments available in your area, you can use a rapid test if you have one or go to a pop-up site.
Please note: If you test positive on a rapid test, notify public health by emailing your name, date of birth, health card number (if you have one) and contact information to PublicHealthPOCT@nshealth.ca. You will need to advise your close contacts and follow directions for people who test positive at https://www.nshealth.ca/testedpositiveforcovid.
