Police charge man in relation to break and enters

Police have charged a man in relation to two break and enters that occurred in Halifax earlier this month.

On December 6, two men broke into the fitness center of an apartment building in the 1400 block of Seymour Street and stole electronics and fitness equipment.

Overnight December 13 to 14, suspects broke into a construction site in the 1400 block of Seymour Street and stole a quantity of industrial tools.

Through the investigation officers identified two suspects. On December 19, at approximately 9 p.m. Central Division Patrol officers located the suspects in the 6000 block of South Street. The two suspects fled on foot and officers arrested one of the suspects after a short foot pursuit.

Jeffery Maxwell Burton, 40, was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Break and enter
  • Resist Arrest
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Breach of Probation (x 4)

Police are continuing to look for the second suspect.
