RCMP arrest two men following theft from vehicle
Halifax District RCMP has arrested two 49-year-old men following a recent theft from vehicle in Timberlea.
On November 12, police responded to a theft from vehicle at the Bluff Wilderness Trail. The vehicle’s windows were smashed out and credit cars were stolen. The credit cards were used at three businesses in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
The further investigation and video surveillance identified two suspects. On November 21, police executed a search warrant at a home on Emerald Crescent in Halifax. Upon entering the home, one man was arrested without incident. Another man jumped out of the second floor window and ran but was arrested a short distance away. This man also had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Police seized items including a stolen credit card, prepaid gift cards, cigarettes and recovered a stolen vehicle at the home.
Scott Ernest Taylor from Halifax, remains in custody on warrants. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 22 to face charges of Fraud x 3, Possession of Stolen Property x 3, Theft of Credit Card x 3, Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2 and Fail to Attend Court.
The other man from Halifax, was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on January 10, 2022. He is facing charges of Fraud x 3 and Theft from Motor Vehicle.
