RCMP charge numerous West Hants drivers in road safety initiative

West Hants District RCMP has charged a number of drivers after a road safety initiative that took place in various parts of the West Hants Regional Municipality.

Between November 4 and 7, police conducted eights check stops and traffic enforcement activities in various locations across the West Hants Regional Municipality. The initiative was in support of the RCMP’s priority to make roads in Nova Scotia more safe.

As a result of this initiative, 19 Summary Offence Tickets and 29 warnings or defect notices were issued to 37 drivers. “The West Hants District RCMP is dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community, which includes road safety” says S/Sgt. David Ferguson, West Hants District RCMP Commander.

Road safety is a priority for the RCMP and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well. If you see someone driving unsafely on our roads, please report it by calling the RCMP at​ 1-800-803-RCMP (7267). If you believe it is an emergency, call​ 911.
