Rainfall warning in effect
Rain, at times heavy, continues.
Total rainfall: 50 to 65 mm.
Locations: Halifax and south shore.
Time span: today and tonight.
Remarks: An area of low pressure passing to the south of the province will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to southern Nova Scotia. If it is safe to do so, keep catch basins clear of leaves and debris to help with drainage. The heaviest rain will subside by Thursday morning.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
