Missing man located following extensive search
The 74-year-old man who was missing from Fox River was located safe by Ground Search and Rescue yesterday evening following an extensive search.
On July 18, Cumberland District RCMP was notified of a missing man who was last seen on July 17. With assistance from the RCMP Air Services, Ground Search and Rescue teams from Colchester, Springhill, Pugwash and East Hants, the FPW Fire Brigade and the Department of Land and Forestry as well as the many volunteers who assisted with the search, the man was located and was flown to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
This marks the fourth successful ground search and rescue operation in Nova Scotia just this past week thanks to the assistance of the volunteer Ground Search and Rescue teams and various other agencies.
Missing person: Help the RCMP find Cecil Pye
Cumberland RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to locate 74-year-old Cecil Pye who was last seen Saturday, July 17 in Fox River at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Cecil Pye is described as white, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, grey hair and hazel eyes. Wearing a blue shirt and black pants, he may be wearing a red ball cap. Pye may be driving a silver 2003 Chevrolet Tracker, no licence plate information is available.
When someone goes missing, it has deep and far-reaching impacts for the person and those that know them. We ask that people spread the word through social media respectfully.
