Police issue summary offence tickets for failing to follow Health Protection Act

Police issued summary offence tickets to two people yesterday for failing to follow the Health Protection Act.

At approximately 12 p.m. police investigated a report that two people from Halifax who had been traveling outside the country had not been self-isolating as required by public health regulations. Officers issued a summary offence tickets to the two people under section 71 (1) (b) of the Health Protection Act for failing to comply with the act and its regulations which carries a fine of $2,422.

HRP is reminding everyone to follow the current public health measures related to the COVID-19 emergency.
