Public Washroom Construction – Fort Needham Memorial Park

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the construction of a new public washroom building in Fort Needham Memorial Park will take place from Monday, May 3 until approximately August 31, weather permitting.

Crews will be on site each day (including some weekends). Access to the park will be maintained while work is underway. There will be some temporary parking loss in the Needham Street parking lot, however, one accessible parking spot will be maintained at all times.

The new washroom facility will be located near the Needham Street entrance. Creating a public washroom in this location was identified under both the Fort Needham Memorial Park Master Plan and the HRM Parks Washrooms & Drinking Fountains Strategy.

In the event of poor weather conditions, the construction may be extended. Your patience is appreciated while this work is completed.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.
