Police Investigate Assault with a Weapon – Dartmouth
At 7:12 p.m., 18 April, Halifax Regional Police responded to a 911 call reporting a group of people damaging a vehicle and fighting with weapons on Catherine Street Dartmouth. Multiple officers responded and located an injured adult female with minor non-life-threatening injuries. Officers confirmed a female damaged a vehicle in the 0-50 block of Catherine Street. The owners of the vehicle, two adult males, confronted the female who was with another female.
Both females then assaulted the males using a knife and a blunt object. The males were able to defend themselves and disarm the attackers. One of the females was injured during the altercation.
Officers arrested both females at the scene without incident. Paramedics treated the injured female.No one else was injured.
Police charged a 45-year-old female and a 25-year-old female, both from Dartmouth, with Possession of a Weapon and Assault with a Weapon. The 25-year-old is also charged with Mischief (Property Damage). Both have been released with conditions and will appear in Dartmouth Court on a later date.
