RCMP investigates fatal collision
Lunenburg County District RCMP is investigating after a fatal collision on Highway 3.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police were notified of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 near Gold River. Police, Fire and EHS attended the scene and found three damaged vehicles as a result of a head-on collision. The collision involved an SUV, a car and a truck. The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old woman from Marriotts Cove, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck was transported to hospital for treatment as a precaution, and the occupants of the car were uninjured.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
