We are thrilled to announce that Camp Courage is going national!

Camp Courage is a camp designed to introduce young women aged 15-19 to careers as first responders, primarily paramedics, police officers, and firefighters. Did you know that females represent only 5% of firefighters, 22% of police officers and just under 50% of paramedics in Canada?

Currently, Camp Courage operates out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, serving approximately 24 women per camp. This year we are happy to announce the opportunity to serve women all across Canada by going national and offering you the opportunity to start your own Camp Courage in your community.

The Camp’s Purpose
The camp aims to provide information, inspiration, education and opportunities to experience the physical demands, thereby allowing a more accurate perception of what it takes to act in these roles. The ultimate goal is that young women will leave with a sense of empowerment and the confidence to believe that they can achieve any goal, career or dream they desire.
Opportunity

We are looking to expand Camp Courage across Canada and seek individuals interested in starting a chapter in your community. The camp could run anywhere from 2 to 8 days. You will need a team of 10 or 30 committed volunteers, facilities, equipment and $5,000-$30,000 depending on the program duration and level of donations in kind. Camp Courage would provide you with a business plan, marketing plan and material, fundraising plan, templates, processes, resources, support, essentially your recipe for success.
