Police Investigate Serious Multiple Vehicle Collision – Dartmouth

At 4:10 p.m., 6 February, Halifax Regional Police responded to multiple reports of a red Mazda sedan travelling South bound on the wrong side of the 111 Highway near exit 7 (Portland Street) in Dartmouth.​ ​

A few minutes later callers reported the red Mazda sedan hit head-on with a blue Hyundai sedan.​ ​ The driver of the Red Mazda attempted to flee on foot, but was stopped by witnesses.​

Officers arrested the 18 year old male driver for Dangerous Driving and Impaired Driving at the scene.​

The occupants of the Hyundai (26 year old male and 24 year old female) sustained serious life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.​ The 18 year old male sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Investigators from Patrol, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section are conducting the investigation, which is ongoing.

Traffic BlockedAll North bound traffic between Pleasant Street and Portland Street on the 111 Highway is blocked. ​ ​ Traffic will remain closed for an extended period.​ ​ ​
