Police issue ticket to an organization for failing to follow the Health Protection Act
Halifax Regional Police have issued a summary offence ticket to a faith-based organization in Bedford for failing to comply with the regulations set out in the Health Protection Act.
On January 1 at approximately 1 p.m. police received a report that a faith-based organization in Bedford was operating contrary to the provincial regulations. Police attended and found that activities were being conducted in excess of the provincially mandated gathering limits.
The organization was issued a summary offence ticket under 71( 1a) of the Health Protection Act for failing to comply with the Act and its regulations which carries a fine of $7,500.
HRP is reminding everyone to follow the current public health measures related to the Covid-19 emergency.
We strongly advise members of the public to educate and re-educate themselves on these public health directives and COVID-19 enforcement measures, including, those related to illegal gatherings and associated fines.
