The RCMP is updating on the search for the five missing fishermen from the Chief Williams Saulis fishing vessel.

On December 18, partnering with Department of Lands and Forestry, approximately 20 kilometres of coastline between Hillsburn and Morden was searched via helicopter. The search did not locate the missing fishermen nor debris from the vessel.

The ground search was suspended yesterday and did not occur today due to weather-related safety concerns. An assessment of the terrain and the tide both from the air and ground was completed yesterday. All ground searching has been suspended indefinitely as conditions are unsafe.

Police are expecting to return to the air with RCMP Air Services on Sunday December 20, weather permitting.

The Nova Scotia RCMP will be providing the public with daily updates and information as the search for the missing fishermen continues.
