Police lay 34 charges against man in relation to multiple break and enters

Police have charged a man in relation to multiple break and enters into residences and vehicles in the Halifax region.

On December 7 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Central Division patrol officers arrested Aaron Joseph Giles, 35, without incident at a residence in Halifax. Giles has been charged in relation to a number of break and enters into residences and vehicles that occurred over the last week in the area of Isleville, Robie, Harris, Roberts and Bloomfield streets in Halifax, as well as a theft from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth that occurred on November 19.

Giles was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday to face the following charges:

  • Break and enter (x 5)
  • Theft under $5,000 (x 5)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x 5)
  • Possession of housebreak tools (x 5)
  • Breach of court order (x 7)
  • Breach of probation (x 7)

The investigation is ongoing, and we ask that anyone who has had property stolen from their homes or vehicles to report it to police.
