**** Truro Police Service Release
At approximately 12:15 today the Truro Police Service responded to a call of a freight train striking a male pedestrian who was in a unauthorized area of the railway tracks.
The 26 year old male from Colchester County, received serious injuries and has been transported to the Colchester East Hants Health Center.
The Truro Police Service are still on scene and our investigation is continuing with CN Police.
Traffic in the downtown area has been impacted as some rail crossings continue to be blocked by the stationary train as this investigation is on going.
The Truro Police Service are asking anyone that may have witnessed this accident to contact TPS at 895-5351.
