Weekly Traffic Advisories (Nov 13)

Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Lays Lake Road, Musquodoboit

Lays Lake Road, from Route 357 to end of road, about 1.7 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane. Expect delays.

Work begins Nov. 15 and runs to Nov. 20, from sunrise to sunset. Traffic control will be in place.



HALIFAX COUNTY: Dyke Road, Chezzetcook

Work will take place from Nov. 15 to Nov. 20, from Route 207 to end of Dyke Road, about 1.1 kilometres.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane. Expect delays. The road will be closed to all traffic on Nov. 18 for paving.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. Traffic control will be in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, will be reduced to one lane until March 2021.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103, Oakland Lake Overpass Bridge

Highway 103, from Exit 10 to Oakland Lake Overpass Bridge, will have alternating lane closures for repairs until Monday, Nov. 30.

Temporary traffic lights are in place. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

Montague Road – Road Construction

Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Montague Road from Highway 7 to Serpentine Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop and go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

First Lake Drive and Veterans Memorial Lane – Traffic Delays

Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect traffic delays at the following locations on Friday, Nov. 20:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​First Lake Drive from Quaker Crescent to Crimson Drive from noon until 2 p.m.
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Veterans Memorial Lane from Robie to Summer streets from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Mumford Road – Traffic Delay

Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Mumford Road, between Ralston and Romans avenues, from Wednesday, Nov. 18 to Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Crews will be on site weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (not including weekends). Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. The sidewalk on Mumford Road will be closed as needed, one side at a time. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

Purcells Cove Road – Traffic Delay ​

Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Purcells Cove Road, between Williams Lake Road and Aarons Way, on Tuesday, Nov. 17.​

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

3170 Highway 2 – Traffic Delay

Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near 3170 Highway 2 on Sunday, Nov. 15.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane with stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.
