We want to acknowledge Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency for upstaffing a spare aerial truck—the Bronto—during the extended Quinpool fire response last week.
This ensured staffing levels remained intact across the city, keeping more trucks in service and ready for the next call. Public safety depends on decisions like this.
The Bronto has been in our fleet since 2009, serving both as a frontline unit and, more recently, as a spare. Over the past few months, #hfxfirefighters have been completing specialized training to bring this unique piece of apparatus back into reliable service as a spare.
