Update: Person identified
Police have identified the individual in the photograph released yesterday in relation to suspicious package found in Grand Parade.
With the assistance of the public, police located and interviewed the individual this morning. While the man had encountered the package, police no longer believe he is a suspect.
Police thank the public for their assistance and ask anyone who shared the image released yesterday to consider removing it from social media.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Update: Suspect in suspicious package investigation
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in today’s suspicious package investigation.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious package in Grand Parade. By 11:30 a.m., it was determined that the package was a hoax improvised explosive device.
Video evidence has determined the person responsible is a white man with a dark beard.
He was wearing a large navy puffer coat with a fur hood, a navy hat and navy pants.
Anyone with information about the man, the incident or with video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.
