In photos – Helping the purr! An address in the Southdale area of Dartmouth is helping the local strays stay out of the harsh winter with various shelters, providing a little bit of security for the unfortunate furry friends.
Smaller tupperwear style boxes were fashioned together and insulated before being placed outside while a larger wooden shelter was constructed, also insulated.
These shelters provide stray cats (and likely family roamers) a sheltered place to rest, keeping direct bitter wind off them and giving them a place to snuggle up, riding out the storms.
We were told that these shelters have been frequented quite often.
