Leiblin Park Area – Water System Pump Maintenance
On Friday, September 11, 2020, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon, Halifax Water will be undertaking maintenance to the booster station pumps that provide water to customers in the Leiblin Park area (see attached map.) Customers in this area may experience reduced water pressure, a short interruption to water service and/or discoloured water during this maintenance work.
Customers who experience discoloured water should run the COLD water at one faucet for about 10 minutes. You should see the water clear. Do not use the hot water faucet since this will draw discoloured water into your hot water heater/tank, which could make the problem worse. If the water fails to clear after 10 minutes, wait for a few hours and again try running only the cold water. To learn more about discoloured water, visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

Caledonia Road, Woodlawn Road & Main Street – Water Service Interruption
On Thursday, September 10, 2020, Brycon Construction Limited, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be completing a water service shutdown impacting the areas shown on the map attached.
This water service interruption will take place from 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, until 6:00 AM on Friday, September 11.
Construction activity will take place on Main Street between Fader Street and Brigadoon Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction (see attached map.) Sidewalks will remain open.
Customers may experience discoloured water during and after this work. Customers who experience discoloured water should run the COLD water at one faucet for about 10 minutes. We recommend that any water required during this period be stored in advance – please fill appropriate containers so you will have sufficient water for drinking and cooking during this period. As a precautionary measure, customers are advised to turn off their hot water tanks during this time to prevent damage to heating elements should the water be inadvertently drained from the tank.

Lead Service Line Replacements – Robie Street
Halifax Water will be replacing lead service lines tomorrow (Wednesday, September 9th) on Robie Street in Halifax.
This work will require the closure of the two inbound lanes of Robie Street between Belmont Road and Inglis Street from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The outbound lanes of Robie Street between Belmont Road and Inglis Street will be converted to two-way traffic. The sidewalk in the work zone will be closed and the traffic lights at the intersection of Robie Street and Inglis Street will be shut down. See the attached work zone map for details.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
