Rainfall warning in effect

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Locations: Atlantic coast of mainland Nova Scotia.

Total rainfall: 40 to 60 mm. Highest amounts forecast over Eastern Shore near 75 mm.

Time span: beginning Friday morning and continuing Friday night.

Remarks: Embedded thundershowers may contribute to locally heavy downpours. Gusty winds of near 80 km/h will accompany the rain. Conditions will improve late in the day on Saturday from west to east.

This warning may be expanded to include areas in Cape Breton as the event draws nearer.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
