Police lay drug trafficking charges

Halifax Regional Police has charged a woman with drug trafficking in relation to the search of a vehicle in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 8 p.m. East Division patrol officers stopped a vehicle without a license plate travelling on Victoria Road in Dartmouth. Officers observed illegal tobacco and drugs inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested, and officers conducted a search of the vehicle. The officers seized quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, cannabis, non-prescription pills, psilocybin, contraband tobacco, and over $2,000 in cash.

The driver, a 50-year-old woman, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
