Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit continue to investigate the disappearance of Zachery Lefave
This Monday, January 1, will mark three years since Zachery Lefave disappeared.
On January 1, 2021, at approximately 12:15 a.m., 21-year-old Zachery Lefave, of Hebron, was last seen walking on Hwy. 334 in Plymouth. At the time, he was talking on the phone.
Over the last 3 years, the investigation has involved searches by ground search and rescue teams and RCMP Police Dog Services, including an RCMP cadaver dog team. The investigation is being led by the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, with assistance from members of Yarmouth Rural RCMP, Yarmouth Town RCMP, Yarmouth RCMP General Investigation Section, Yarmouth/Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Meteghan RCMP, Shelburne RCMP and Lunenburg District RCMP.
On August 18, 2023, at the request of the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, Zachery’s case was added to the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Reward for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Zachery.
